Absolute faces Cobra
in Fil-Sino Class B final

 

Absolute and Cobra Citrus held off separate opponents to arrange a titular showdown in Class B of the Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Cup at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po hang Gym.

Absolute escaped Summit, 85-82, and Cobra Citrus defeated Nestea, 76-69.

Cobra Citrus led at the half 46-33 led by Carl Ginete, Edgar Agana and Dirk Dongon while Miguel Mosquera, Derick Sibug and Joshua Chua kept Nestea into the game.

Cobra posted a commanding 75-40 advantage going to the fourth quarter as Agana and Mar Macainan scored six points each.

Nestea launched a last ditch rally in the payoff quarter led by Jappy Cuaycong , Joshua Co and Sibug but it was not enough to overhaul the Cobra Citrus lead.

Edgar Agana led Cobra Citrus with 19 points while Sibug had the same output to lead Nestea.

Meanwhile, top seed Absolute won in the same fashion as they also took the lead at the break 54-36 with Sean Wee connecting on four triples

Summit started to make its move in the third quarter and cut the deficit to 70-59 led by a balanced offensive led by Badong Eufre, Carlo Chu and Chibon Uy.

The momentum continued to shift to Summit and there were some anxious moments for Absolute when they had a 83-79 lead .

Wee paced Absolute with 23 Points while Brian Coo shot 18 and Dy added 16.

Meanwhile top seed Tiger Black bounced back to down Tiger Crystal Light, 66-51, Wednesday night to advance to the finals in Class C.

Finals for Class A and B is set for next Monday.*
