Coach RistoVidakovic is hoping for a good home crowd when Ceres-Negros faces Becamex Binh Duong tonight in their final match of the group stage of the AFC Cup at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.
Kickoff is set at 8 p.m.
Although the team is assured of a spot for the next round ,Vidakovic believes that the home crowd can give an extra boost for the Busmen to finish strong in the elimination round.
“I hope the fans will come tomorrow and watch because we don’t have any pressure for the game,” said Vidakovic during yesterday’s pre-match press conference.
“As I said before, I don’t like these kind of matches without pressure because we need some it in the games. We need to be prepared, focused, and maybe a little bit nervous also before the game,” he added.
The home squad will also have the chance to make an ASEAN Zone record if they finish unbeaten or even undefeated in the group stages.
Vidakovic hopes that the continued home support will be the x-factor similar to the first two home games which allowed the team to dictate their winning run in the competition.
“We had a good crowd in our last game here and I hope everyone will come tomorrow to enjoy. We will give everything tomorrow, we will play offensive football, and we will try to score goals in this important game. If the crowd comes, it will be much better,” Vidakovic said.
Meanwhile, Ceres midfielder Sean Kane expects the team to pick up where they left off especially in their final match of the group stage tonight against Becamex.
“Obviously, we want to maintain our winning streak,” Kane said at the pre-match press conference yesterday.
“It will be a tough game (against Becamex), tougher against Shan but thankfully the teams and I will be more prepared when we face them at home,” he added.*ceresfootball.com
