I donít believe figures,
Batapa-Sigue says

Defeated mayoralty candidate Jocelle Batapa-Sigue yesterday said she wants to know the real scores even if she loses in the election.

“I do not believe in the figures since there were many defective VCM’s during the election,” she said.

Batapa-Sigue, mayoralty candidate of Asenso for Better Bacolod-MKK, said many people in Bacolod City deserve to know the truth. So as of now they are waiting for the actual figures since the canvassing of votes is not yet finished.

They will wait for the final results because many of their supporters want to know where did their votes go, she said.

They have received many reports of election violations and defective SD cards, Batapa-Sigue said.

There were many complaints of how their votes were invalidated, she said.

Batapa-Sigue said there were also reports of massive vote buying but nothing was done by the authorities. Some voters said they will just get the money but still vote for her, she said.

She said they want to know the real scores even if she loses. She wants to know how the people voted for her in reality.

“I assure our supporters and voters I will get to the bottom of things,” she added.

As to what action they will take, this will be decided by their group, Batapa-Sigue said.

If there is business connections in the elections in this country brought about by computerization they will uncover it, she said.

Batapa-Sigue added that she does not really want the seat. In fact she is now reviewing the list of projects she had promised in each barangay, which she will try to do using her private citizens connections.

She garnered 80,244 votes against incumbent Mayor Evelio Leonardia of Grupo Progreso who got 143,115 votes from resultscovering 98 percent of Bacolod’s votes Tuesday evening.*
