Karate training set Oct. 12

 

The International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF) will be in Bacolod City this Saturday to conduct a seminar and training on Japanese karate.

The training will start 1 p.m. at McDonald’s Lacson. Trainer and guest instructors are Sensei Danilo “Bong” Mojica II, Sensei Ericson Fermin, and Sensei Rommel Raymundo.

Mojica is the ISKF Philippines country director and chairman while Fermin is a SEA Games and US Goodwill tournament medalist. Raymundo is the ISKF-PSKI chairman.

The seminar and training in Bacolod City is part of the Philippine tour initiated by ISKF to preserve and spread tradition Japanese karate through exceptional instruction, Bacolod City-based karate instructor Sensei Randy Mengullo said.

“We’re very fortunate that ISKF included our province, Negros Occidental, in the program to propagate and standardize Japanese martial arts. This is not just a sporting event but a brotherhood of sharing expertise and resources to enhance authentic world class karate,” Mengullo added.

Expected to attend the seminar in Bacolod are the karate enthusiasts from the cities of La Carlota, Silay, Talisay, SSWU Negros, RNKA –Bacolod and the Karate Fighting System (KFS-Bacolod).*
