No power plot: Bong
BY CARLA P. GOMEZ

Gov. Eugenio Jose “Bong” Lacson denied yesterday that the victory of Love Negros supported bets for all three ex-oficio positions in the Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan were geared toward the consolidation of political power in the province.

The three ex-oficio  members are the presidents of the provincial chapters of the  Association of Barangay Captains – Juvy Pepello , Philippine Councilors' League – Ryan Gamboa and Sangguniang Kabataan  – Pocholo Yuvienco.

“We don’t look at it in terms of power, we just look at it as being able to nominate officials whocan well serve their respective organizations. It has nothing to do with power,” Lacson said.

Gamboa who was elected president of the PCL-Negros Occidental chapter last week along with the other provincial officials of the league, paid a courtesy call on the governor Monday.

Lacson said he requested the PCL officers to support their mayors in the fight against dengue, African Swine Fever and clearance of illegal structures.

He also encouraged them to have an active PCL chapter, Lacson said.*
