Valladolid folk get lifeline
BY MARCHEL P. ESPINA

A temporary lifeline was constructed for residents of SitioPangpang in Barangay Alijis, Valladolid town, after an old bridge collapsed Saturday.

Dexter Celiz, head of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, said the bamboo bridge is only meant for residents who need to cross the river, adding that it was established so their movement will not be hindered.

He said that motorcycles, tricycles, and vehicles have to take the alternate route, which is longer, to reach the other side.

The bridge gave way after the 10-wheeler truck loaded with soya beans passed over.*
