Cops nab couple in drug-bust

Policemen arrested a couplein a buy-bust operation at Magsaysay Street in Brgy. Zone 10, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, Sunday that also yielded P60,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Nabbed by the Talisay City police were Alex Castillo, 47, and his live-in partner, Rachel Jover, 42, both fruit vendors and temporarily residing at Brgy. Zone 10 in Talisay City.

Maj. Jigger Gimeno, officer-in-charge of the Talisay City Police Station, reported to the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office that the arrest of Castillo and Jover also yielded P2,150 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs, P500 in marked money, shabu paraphernalia and a cellular phone, aside from P60,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Another drug suspect identified by the police as Herbie Orquia was also apprehended yesterday by the police in another buy-bust operation at Brgy. Mambulac in Silay City.

The arrest of Orquia, 23, yielded about three grams of suspected shabu with a street market value of P20,600 and P500 in marked money.

The three arrested drugs suspects are now detained at the custodial facilities of the Silay and Talisay City Police Stations.*
