286 nabbed for GCQ violations

The police apprehended 286 individuals Wednesday for not wearing face masks and practicing social distancing in Bacolod City, which are required under General Community Quarantine rules.

P/Lt. Col. Ariel Pico, Bacolod City Police Office public information officer, said yesterday those arrested will be charged for violation of the Revised Penal Code 151 or Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority or Agents of such Person.

The 10 police stations, Mobile Patrol Group, and Bacolod City Mobile Force Company apprehended the violators in simultaneous operations to ensure compliance with Mayor Evelio Leonardia’s Executive Order 35.

The majority of the violators were caught in the downtown area of Bacolod City.

Violators were brought to barangay gyms and the BCPO headquarters for documentation for the filing of the cases.

Of the 286 arrested Station 1 nabbed 60, Station 2 – 26, Station 3 – 25, Station 4 – 57, Station 5 – 17, Station 6 – 4, Station 7 – 19, Station 8 – 15, Station 9 – 14, Station 10 – 14, BCMFC – 31, and MPG – 4.*
