752 GCQ violators arrested

Four hundred sixty-six persons were apprehended Thursday for not wearing face masks and practicing social distancing as safety measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Bacolod City, that is under general community quarantine.

This adds up to the total number of apprehended quarantine violators in Bacolod to 752, in just two days.

Ten police stations of the Bacolod City Police Office, Mobile Patrol Group, and the Bacolod City Mobile Force Company continued simultaneous operations Thursday against those not wearing face masks and violating social distancing, in relation to Executive Order 35 of Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

Most of those apprehended in the second day of operations were in the area of Station 4 covering barangays 19, 20, 23, 26, 27, 41, Estefania, Montevista and Villamonte, with 64 violators.

Station 8, with jurisdiction over barangays Tangub, Singcang-Airport, and Pahanocoy, caught 57 persons for violating the health protocols.

Forty-two individuals were apprehended in the area of Station 1, 29 in Station 2, Station 3 – 26, Station 5 – three violators, Station 6 – 45, Station 7 – 24, Station 9 with 20, Station 10 – 44, BCMFC - 20, and MPG with 39 violators, BCPO records show.

P/Col. Henry Biñas, BCPO director, already ordered the filing of charges for violation of the Revised Penal Code 151 or Resistance and Disobedience to a Person in Authority or Agents of such Person, against the violators.*
