A drug suspect, who had previously been arrested, was apprehended again during a buy-bust operation at Purok Mabinuligon in Brgy. Zone 4-A, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, Thursday.

Police Maj. Jigger Gimeno, Talisay City police chief, yesterday identified the arrested suspect as Rodel Obinque, 43, of Purok Mabinuligon.

Gimeno said that the arrest of Obinque, who had been released from jail several years ago after entering into a plea bargaining agreement, yielded P40,000 worth of suspected shabu, P500 in buy-bust money, an improvised tooter and P450 in cash.

Initial police investigation showed that the suspected shabu taken from Obinque, who is classified by the police as a High Value Individual (HVI),came from Bacolod City.

A day earlier, a drug suspect identified as William Lanzar, was also arrested by the police for a similar offense in Brgy. 1 Poblacion, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.

P/Capt. Rhojn Darrell Nigos, Pontevedra police chief, said that the apprehension of Lanzar, 39, and a resident of Brgy San Juan in the municipality, yielded P8,000 worth of suspected shabu, a cellular phone, P500 in marked money and P350 in cash.

The Pontevedra police also recovered a Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle with a sidecar from the arrested suspect, who is now in jail.*
