• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The police arrested 10 more suspects engaged in the selling of suspected shabu in Negros Occidental, including highly urbanized Bacolod City on September 23, leading to the confiscation of more than P700,000 worth of illegal drugs.

A report submitted to PCol. Joeresty Coronica said that operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested two drug suspects, considered High Value Individual drug personalities, whose identities were withheld by the police, on Sept. 23, at Barangay Villamonte in Bacolod City.

The arrest of the two drug personalities during a buy bust operation yielded about 85 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P578,000, marked money of P1,000, and P170 in cash.

Additionally, eight other drug suspects were nabbed by the police in the cities of Bago, Talisay, and Kabankalan, as well as in the towns of Ilog, Isabela and Cauayan, which led to the seizure of an estimated 18 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P126,000.

On the other hand, the police arrested on Monday a 17-year-old in Brgy. Inapoy, Kabankalan City, for having an unlicensed firearm in his possession.

Recovered by a team of barangay kagawads was a caliber .357 revolver with ammunition.*
