Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson led in the planting of 100 endemic trees at the Panaad Park in Bacolod City, yesterday, during the launching of the Pana-ad Greening Program, spearheaded by the Provincial Environment Management Office.
The activity aims to plant and grow high conservation tree species being an awardee of the Seal of Good Environmental Governance and Baganihan sang Dunang Manggad, and improve the landscape and carbon absorption capacity of the Pana-ad Park, a press release from the Capitol said.
Lacson stressed the importance of protecting the environment through different activities that conserve and protect nature.
Also present in the activity were Negros Occidental board members Rita Gatuslao, Tinto Bascon, Andrew Montelibano, Pal Guanzon, Miguel Alonso, and Pocholo Yuvienco, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, Provincial Environment Management Office head Danilo Amisola, and Capitol department and office heads.*
