103 new cases in WV, healing center nurse hit

There were 103 new COVID-19 patients in Western Visayas yesterday, 18 of whom were from Bacolod City and 17 from Negros Occidental, the Department of Health reported.

A male nurse at the EB Magalona Healing Center in Negros Occidental has tested positive for the virus and has been quarantined, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz also said yesterday.

COVID-19 has hit 22 Negros Occidental provincial government employees, of which eight have recovered.

DOH said that of 103 new COVID-19 cases in Western Visayas 101 are local cases, and two are returning overseas Filipinos.

Iloilo City had the most number of new cases at 37, followed by Bacolod City and Iloilo province at 18 each, Negros Occidental with 17, Guimaras – 8, Capiz – 4 and Antique -1.

There are also 17 COVID-19 positive patients in the region who have recovered with Iloilo province and Capiz having 5 each, Negros Occidental – 3, and Bacolod, Guimaras, Aklan and Antique with 1 each, the DOH reported.*
