1,084,254 Negrenses fully vaccinated – PHO

The provincial government of Negros Occidental is inching towards in achieving the herd immunity against COVID-19, as the number of fully vaccinated Negrenses has risen to 1,084,254 as of January 30.

The PHO report added that 176,489 more Negrenses are set to receive their second dose,bringing to 1,260,743 the number of persons already vaccinated, excluding those residing in Bacolod City.

A total of 1,875,370 Negrenses needed to be vaccinated to achieve the 70 percent requirement for herd immunity.

With its target to achieve the herd immunity by the end of February, the provincial government is now racing against time to inoculate 564,627 more.

PHO records further show that La Carlota City remains on top among the list of local government units with highest percentage on number of fully vaccinated individuals at 89 percent, Pulupandan -79.67 percent, Cadiz City -79.27 percent, Murcia -77. 23 percent, EB Magalona -75.30 percent, Victorias City – 74.46 percent, San Enrique -74.21 percent and Sagay City – 72.07 percent.

As of Feb.1, the Provincial Incident Management Team reported that COVID-19 active cases further rose to 3,445.

The Department of Health- Western Visayas also reported yesterday that Negros Occidental has an additional 153 new COVID-19 cases, and 76 for highly-urbanized Bacolod City.*
