A security guard and 10 other drug suspects are now locked up in jail following their arrests on February 26 and 27, in Negros Occidental, for violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, which also led to the confiscation of P340,000 worth of suspected shabu.
The apprehension of two drug suspects on Wednesday and Thursday in the barangays of Mambulac and Hawaiian in Silay City, led to the seizure of about 21 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P142,000.
The police also confiscated about 20 grams of suspected shabu, valued at 136,600, from an arrested drug suspect, identified only as Rod, at Purok New Site in Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia, on Feb. 27.
Another anti-drug operation on Wednesday at Purok Mahogany in Barangay Tabugon, Kabankalan City, also led to the apprehension of six drug suspects and the confiscation of an estimated eight grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P54,4000.
The arrest of a 48-year-old security guard during a buy bust operation at Purok Malipayon, Barangay Sampinit, Bago City, also yielded a gram of a suspected shabu with a market value of P6,800, and P500 in marked money.
Another police operation at Hacienda Maruja, Brgy. 9, Isabela, Negros Occidental, also led to the arrest of alias Jan, 26, and the recovery of three sachets of suspected shabu.*
