The Army’s 11th Infantry “Lapu-Lapu” Battalion stationed in Negros Oriental have successfully completed the Battalion Evaluation and Certification Program (BECP) under the supervision of the Philippine Army Training Command.
The BECP serves as a key mechanism in assessing the operational readiness, combat effectiveness, and professional competence of Philippine Army units, particularly infantry battalions.
During the evaluation, the battalion underwent rigorous assessments covering tactical proficiency, leadership capability, administrative management, and overall mission readiness.
According to the Philippine Army evaluators, the results highlighted the battalion’s strong operational capabilities while also identifying areas for further improvement. The program continues to play an important role in sustaining military excellence, strengthening interoperability, and ensuring that units remain aligned with modern defense requirements.
Brig. Gen. Jason Jumawan, commander of the 302nd Infantry Brigade, commended the “Lapu-Lapu Troopers” for their discipline, thorough preparation, and commitment to maintaining high service standards.*
