Twelve more employees of the provincial government of Negros Occidental have tested positive for Covid-19, on top of the 12 other from the Capitol, who were infected earlier, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said yesterday.
Provincial Agriculturist Japhet Masculino was among the employees added to the list of new Covid-19 patients, who are being isolated at the Mambukal Mountain Resort in Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia, Diaz said.
But Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is not yet keen on placing the provincial Capitol under temporary lockdown, adding that they will continue to adopt the four-day work scheme.
Asked if the Covid-19 cases at the Capitol are contained, Lacson said, “At the very least, they have been tested based on contact tracing.” Capitol Safety and Security Division chief, Renelo Lastierre, who tested negative for Covid-19, said that two of the seven security personnel assigned at the Capitol and subjected to swab testing, had tested positive of the virus.*
