The Bacolod City Permits and Licensing Division recorded a total of 12,185 business registrations from January 2 to 14.

Stela Rose Rayos, Permits and License Division head, yesterday said that in 2024, the total business registrations was at 14,690. They hope that at the end of the business renewal and Bacolod One-Stop-Shop (BOSS), they could reach their target.

They have also issued more than 2,000 business permits, while some are still processing or complying with their clearances, she said.

Taxpayers can avail of a 10 percent discount on business tax if they do a one-time payment from January 2 to 20, after the Sangguniang Panlungsod issued a resolution extending the BOSS. After Jan. 20, there will be no penalties and surcharges imposed but they can no longer avail of the 10 percent discount, Rayos said.

“So we are encouraging the public, especially those who cannot pay in full or do a one-time payment, to avail of the 10 percent discount until Jan. 20,” she said.

Meanwhile, Rayos said the public can use their website ebpls.bacolodcity.gov.ph to apply or register their businesses since they are now using online programs.

“Those who are at home or have hectic schedules and cannot go to the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC) to apply or renew their business permits, can do so in their stores or homes anytime of the day,” she said.

Those who have difficulty applying online may go to the BCGC because they have staff who can assist them on how to register online, Rayos added.*
