Thirteen persons were reported injured in separate vehicular crashes over the weekend in Murcia and San Enrique, Negros Occidental.
Eight suffered injuries after the passenger vehicle they were riding figured in a road crash on Sunday at Purok Señora, Barangay Salvacion, Murcia.
P/Major Sherwin Fernandez, Murcia police chief, disclosed that the passenger vehicle was rented by a family from Calatrava to attend graduation rites at the Central Philippine Adventist College (CPAC) in Murcia.
Based on investigations of the Murcia police, the crash was caused by a detached front tire of the vehicle.
One of the victims was supposed to attend the CPAC graduation rites.
Fernandez said the victims only suffered minor injuries, and were declared as out patients in the medical facility they were brought for treatment.
A four-vehicle collision on Saturday occurred along the national highway in Purok Acacia, Brgy. Tabao Rizal, San Enrique, leading to minor injuries of five passengers, according to the police.
Involved in the multiple vehicle collision were three Ceres Liner passenger buses and a privately owned vehicle.
The injured victims were all passengers of the buses.
Initial police investigations indicated that one of the drivers of the passenger buses lost control of his vehicle, which led to the collisions.*
