The Provincial Health Office reported 14 more deaths due to COVID-19 yesterday, bringing to 22 the number of fatalities in Negros Occidental, excluding highly-urbanized Bacolod City, since October 27.
A report of PHO also indicated 126 more new active cases in the province.
Provincial Incident Management Team chief Zeaphard Gerhard Caelian reported yesterday there were 151 cases recorded on October 27, with seven deaths in Murcia and one in Sipalay City.
On the same day, however, there were 292 recoveries from COVID-19 infections.
Caelian explained that the number of COVID-19 related deaths reported in a day does not necessarily mean that they all died in that particular day.
He also said that the accumulation in number of deaths was due to delayed reporting of local government units, as reports have to undergo also several verification procedures.*
