15 drug suspects nabbed, P4.8M in shabu seized

The two-day anti-drug operations in Negros Occidental and Iloilo led to the apprehension of 15 drug suspects and the recovery of 709 grams of suspected shabu worth P4.8 million, according to a report of the Police Regional Office 6.

Of the 15 arrested drug suspects, three were tagged as high value individuals and 12 are street level individuals, the report added.

In a statement, PLt. Col. Arnel Solis, regional police spokesman, disclosed that the Bacolod City Police Office seized P530,000 worth of suspected shabu, while the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office recovered P132,000 worth of illegal drugs, for the period of September 27 to 29.

On the other hand, the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 had the largest volume of illegal drug confiscations amounting to P2,448,000, followed by the Iloilo City Police Office with seizure of about P958,000 worth suspected shabu, while the Iloilo Police Provincial Office also recovered P751,600, worth of illegal drugs

P/Brig. General Jack Wanky, praised the coordinated efforts of all police units against illegal drugs in the region.

“We are confident that through the continued cooperation, vigilance, and support of everyone, we can identify and apprehend those who are still engaged in illegal drug activities,” Wanky said.*
