The month-long anti-drug campaign of the police in Negros Occidental, including the Bacolod City Police Office, has led to the arrest of 155 drug personalities, according to police records.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office nabbed 105 of the suspects, while the BCPO netted the remaining 50.
The BCPO also recovered P7.89 million worth of illegal drugs for the month of March.
PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, officer in charge of the Police Regional Office – Negros Island Region, lauded the anti-drug campaign accomplishments of BCPO and NOCPPO.
Wanky encouraged PNP units to continue fostering strong relationships with the community and enhancing collaboration and coordination with the different government agencies and stakeholders.
“With their support, we can certainly identify those who opt to engage in the illegal activity and make them answerable of their actions,” he added.
The suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
NOCPPO and BCPO also reported the arrest of 310 fugitives, 47 of which were categorized as Most Wanted Persons.
