The number of applicants who registered to vote for the 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) rose to 155,823 in the Negros Island Region, the latest data from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) showed.
Comelec reported a total of 105,641 applicants in Negros Occidental, 47,550 in Negros Oriental, and 2,632 in Siquijor.
Comelec records indicate that 946 availed of Register Anywhere Program across the region, with 790 recorded in Dumaguete City and 156 in Bacolod City.
Among NIR applicants, a total of 73,533 are male, while 82,290 are female.
The voter registration runs until May 18, with the BSKE election slated for November 2 this year.
The filing of certificates of candidacy will be from September 28 to October 21.*
