The massive vaccination rollout of the provincial government of Negros Occidental and the Bacolod City government resulted in the inoculation of 101,533 Negrenses as of July 2, and 64,513 Bacolodnons in the priority groups.

A report from the provincial government of Negros Occidental showed that 82,376 Negrenses have received their first dose, or 4.51 percent of the targeted population, while 19,177 were fully vaccinated, representing a 1.05 percent accomplishment, out of the 1,825,730, or 70 percent of Negros Occidental population targeted for inoculation against the Covid-19.

Meanwhile, 64,513 residents of the highly-urbanized Bacolod City were also vaccinated, with 53,466 getting their first dose and 11,047 already fully vaccinated with the AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines, as of June 30, the Covid-19 Vaccination Council, chaired by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, said.

Of the 101,533 Negrenses vaccinated, 35,481 received the British-made AstraZeneca vaccine, while 4,514 were inoculated with the US-German-made Pfizer BioNTech jab.

Data released by the provincial government also show that the cities of Escalante, Sagay, and La Carlota have achieved a 100 percent vaccine utilization. The E.B. Magalona town logged a 97 percent utilization, Kabankalan City – 96 percent, Talisay City – 91 percent, and Pulupandan – 75 percent.*
