190 more cops arrive to secure MassKara festival

PREPARATIONS. The installation of stages and kiosks along the Lacson Tourism Strip in Bacolod City is ongoing, as the city prepares for the highlights of the MassKara Festival this weekend, despite the threat of inclement weather.*

About 190 more police officers from Police Regional Office 6 arrived in Bacolod City to help secure the ongoing MassKara Festival.

The newly arrived police officers from Capiz and Antique are to be fielded at the Lacson Tourism Strip in Bacolod City, from October 25, until the festival highlights on the 27th, according to the Bacolod City Police Office.

The 246 police personnel from Police Regional Office 6 headquarters in Iloilo City, have already been deployed to various festival sites, including at the Megaworld’s Upper East and Bacolod City Government Center.

At least 1,800 security personnel of the Philippine National Police and other law enforcement agencies were tasked to secure the 45th edition of the MassKara Festival in Bacolod City. The Police Regional Office 6 is targeting “zero fatality” for this year.

A gun ban has been imposed in Bacolod City. It will end on Oct. 27.*
