The Police Regional Office 6 is mobilizing about 1,900 police personnel in the six provinces of Western Visayas, as part of its security coverage for the All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day celebrations on November 1 and 2, respectively.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police director of Western Visayas, said the deployment will cover the cemeteries, transport terminals, ports, and other areas of convergence.

Wanky added the PNP will establish police assistance desks in those areas to ensure the safety and security of everyone during the entire celebration.

“In our security coverage, we will closely coordinate and collaborate with the local government units, other law enforcement agencies, with force multipliers and advocacy support groups will also be tapped to assist in the operation,” he added.

“To support our deployment, checkpoint and law enforcement operations, police visibility and other police interventions be made to prevent the lawless elements from perpetrating their evil plans,” Wanky further said.*
