A 19-year-old woman identified as a high-value Individual was apprehended by authorities following a major anti-drug operation in Purok Narra-Baybay, Barangay 8, Bacolod City, at around 11:17 p.m. on Sunday which yielded a total of P1,564,000 million worth of suspected shabu.

Operatives from the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), executed a buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of the suspect, identified as alias ‘Gel.’

The suspect, who is single and unemployed, was reportedly engaged in the illegal sale of drugs across different barangays in the city.

Acting on information from a confidential informant, authorities conducted casing and surveillance to validate the report before coordinating with PDEA for the enforcement action.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession were one sachet of shabu used as the buy-bust item, six sachets of shabu, two knot-tied transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu amounting to a total of more or less 230 grams of the illegal substance, and the marked one thousand peso bill used as buy-bust money.

The suspect was apprised of her Constitutional Rights and the provisions of the Anti-Torture Law and is currently detained at the Bacolod City Police Office Station 2.

She is facing charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165.

In a statement, the Police Regional Office (PRO) Negros Island Region (NIR) underscored that the successful operation reinforces its relentless campaign against illegal drugs, demonstrating its commitment to dismantle drug networks and build safer, drug-free communities.*
