Two persons linked to “akyat bahay” robbery incidents were shot and killed by suspects who were riding in tandem, yesterday at Araneta Street in Brgy. 15, Bacolod City.
The two victims succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, including fatal head injuries, and died on the spot according to PMaj. Elmer Bonilla, commander of Bacolod City Police Office Station 1.
Recovered from the scene of the incident were eight empty shells and three slugs from a .45 caliber pistol.
Bonilla disclosed that the two victims he identified as Nobert Aguda and Kenneth Jamandre, residents of Brgys. 35 and 16, of Bacolod City, respectively, were walking along Araneta Street, when a motorcycle stopped and the back rider, who was the gunman, opened fire at them several times.
Police probers are still determining the motive of the shooting incident.
Bonilla disclosed that the two victims were linked to a series of “Akyat Bahay” incidents in Bacolod City.
He also said that they are now coordinating with owners of commercial establishments at the scene of the incident to secure CCTV footage which may help in their investigation and identify the two suspects.*
