The Contract Termination Review Committee (CTRC) is currently evaluating the possible termination of the two drainage projects in the city, citing delays in completion.

The City Administrator Atty. Mark Steven Mayo, CTRC member, said that the project in Purok Nangka, Barangay 3, worth P11.7 million, has accomplished only 7 percent of the work.

The contract started last year of August and was supposed to end April 2025.

Mayo said that in their initial committee meeting with the contractor, they discussed the timeline and the possible consequences, including liquidated damages, legal, and administrative.

“Eventually, they will be blacklisted if they will be terminated,” Mayo said.

Meanwhile, the city gave an extension for the P24.9 million contract at Palanca Road, beside the Pope John Paul II Tower, due to valid reasons given by the contractor, including a conflict with the pipes of PrimeWater.

“Before we decide, we look for reasons behind the delay and if justifiable, most likely we will have to extend. We looked if it will do more harm than good,” Mayo said.

The two drainage projects are handled by Salmega Developer.*
