Three close contacts of two Talisay bikers have tested positive for COVID-19, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said yesterday.
A 34-year-old female and an 8-year-old male from Talisay City who tested positive for COVID-19 are close contacts of Negros Occidental Patient No. 190, who is one of the five virus-positive Talisay bikers.
A 17-year-old Talisay female who is also COVID positive is a close contact of the biker tagged as Patient No. 189, he said.
The five Talisay bikers tested positive for the virus after biking with a COVID-positive nurse.
The Talisay nurse was hit by the virus after he assisted a locally stranded individual (LSI) from Bago City undergoing dialysis at a private hospital in Bacolod City.
The nurse’s wife and the mother of the LSI have also tested positive for the virus.
Diaz also said a 14-year-old male from Calatrava, who is a close contact of an LSI who returned from Cebu, tested positive for COVID-19.
In Cadiz City, a 35-year-old man and a 3-year-old boy who are close contacts of an Authorized Person Outside of Residence from Cebu also tested positive for the virus, Diaz added.*
