A 39-year-old farmer succumbed to multiple gunshot injuries after being shot by an unidentified gunman on March 26 in Brgy. Telim, Calatrava.
Initial police investigations indicated that the victim was attending his farm when approached by the suspect, who expressed his intention to buy dead citrus plants.
Without any reason, the suspect then took out his gun and shot the victim four times.
Recovered from the scene of the incident were four empty shells of a caliber .45 pistol.
The suspect immediately fled after the incident, and the victim was declared dead on arrival at the Calatrava Municipal Health Office.
Three unidentified armed men also shot and killed a 41-year-old farmer on Tuesday at Sitio Calanugan in Brgy. Minapasok, Calatrava.
