Two farmers and a senior high school student were shot and killed in separate shooting incidents on June 2 in Negros Occidental, with the motives yet to be established by the police, as of press time.
Two victims of a shooting incident were reported by the police to have been watching a cockfight at Sitio Pitgong in Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City, when they were shot by the gunman, identified only as a certain Wangyo.
A 53-year-old farmer and his 40-year-old nephew, whose identities were withheld by the police, succumbed to multiple gunshot injuries.
Both of them were declared dead on arrival at the Lorenzo D Zayco Memorial Hospital in Kabankalan City, according to the police.
A senior high school student was also gunned down Sunday night inside his residence at Brgy. Granada in Bacolod City.
The 20-year-old victim, whose identity was also withheld by the police, was playing a billiard game, when he saw the suspect, who was carrying a gun, according to initial investigations of the Police Station 5 of the Bacolod City Police Office.
This prompted the victim to flee and seek refuge at his residence, where he was followed by the suspect.
The victim was shot and killed inside his room, according to the police.
He was reported by the police to have been declared dead on arrival at the Metro Bacolod General Hospital.*
