Two died in separate motorcycle incidents that transpired in Bago City, Murcia, and EB Magalona in Negros Occidental on the first day of December.
In Bago City, a 48-year-old electrician lost his life in a 2-motorcycle collision along the National Highway, Purok Timawa, Barangay Ma-ao.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim, was on board a Rusi motorcycle together with his back rider, alias ‘Paul,’ 22, traveling from Barangay Ma-ao to the city proper when they were hit by an approaching Honda motorcycle traveling from the opposite direction.
Both drivers and the back rider sustained serious injuries and were brought to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, the driver of the Rusi motorcycle was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Another motorcycle crash along National Highway, Barangay Salvacion, Murcia, involved a minor back rider who was killed in a collision after the driver of the motorcycle he was on attempted to overtake a truck.
The driver, alias ‘Allen,’ 19, did not see an approaching motorcycle and bumped into it. As a result, the back rider, identified only as a 15-year-old male, was killed, while the two drivers suffered multiple injuries.
Further investigation revealed that ‘Allen’ remains unconscious at the hospital.
Another road crash was reported in the town of EB Magalona, which caused multiple injuries to 4 individuals.
Probers said that a motorcycle driven by the alias ‘Jerard,’ 44, with his wife, alias ‘Shiela,’ 44, was traveling from north to south when they collided with another motorcycle driven by 66-year-old alias ‘Dionesio’ with his 36-year-old passenger, who was executing a U-turn and traversing in the opposite direction.
Both drivers and the two back riders sustained injuries and were immediately brought to the nearest medical facility.
With the recent spike of road incidents, authorities plead to the public to be vigilant and ensure safety, especially when riding during nighttime.
All motorcycles involved were brought under police custody for proper legal disposition.*
