Two minors drowned, while three of their companions survived, after they went for a swim on May 22 at the seashore of Purok Mahidaiton in Brgy. Sampinit, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
The five minors were reported to have asked permission from their parents to go jogging.
Police investigations show that the five minors who went swimming, failed to notice that the water was rising due to high tide.
One of the three survivors told the Bago City police, that Jimuel Padilla and Lean Flor, who were reported to have been swept away by the current, drowned.
The three others who were washed ashore, immediately sought help from residents in the area.
However, Padilla and Flor were declared dead on arrival at the Bago City District Hospital.*
