The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region apprehended two of its top most wanted fugitives in separate manhunt operations conducted in Negros Oriental and Siquijor on April 7 and 8.
On April 7, personnel from the Dauin Municipal Police Station arrested an individual ranked as the number eight regional most wanted person in Barangay Poblacion 2, Dumaguete City.
The suspect, identified as alias ‘Tong,’ is a 30-year-old farmer from Barangay Malungcay Dacu, Dauin.
He was taken into custody by virtue of a warrant of arrest for the crime of qualified rape of a minor, involving his niece.
The following morning, on April 8, a second operation was conducted in Sitio Katugasan, Barangay Simacolong, Lazi, Siquijor.
This resulted in the arrest of the number nine regional most wanted person, identified as 50-year-old alias ‘Jhon.’
The operation was carried out by the Lazi Municipal Police Station and the Siquijor Provincial Police Office, supported by the Regional Intelligence Unit.
The suspect was wanted for three counts of rape with no bail recommended.
The operations were part of an intensified campaign to locate and arrest individuals with standing warrants, specifically those categorized as high-ranking regional targets.
Alias ‘Tong’ is currently under the custody of the Dauin Municipal Police Station, while alias ‘Jhon’ is being held at the Lazi Municipal Police Station for proper legal disposition.
