A teacher and two other motorists were reported by the police to have died, following the head-on collision of two motorcycles on Saturday night in Barangay Malabuhan, Siaton, Negros Oriental.
The victims were identified as Rolly Palagtiw, a 36-year-old teacher, James Mejio, a 27-year-old farmer, and his passenger, Aquino Paira, 54, who were all declared dead on arrival at the Congressman Lamberto L. Macias Hospital, according to a report of the Police Regional Office – Negros Island Region.
The initial investigation of the Siaton police indicated that Mejio, who was driving a Skygo 125 motorcycle, with Paira as his backrider, figured in a head-on collision with the Yamaha 150 Sniper motorcycle driven by Palagtiw.
The motorcycle crash, according to the police, took place after Meijo overtook another vehicle and collided with the motorcycle of Palagtiw, who was on his way to Bayawan town in Negros Oriental.
According to the police, all the three victims suffered severe injuries, and the two motorcycles involved sustained damage.
The three victims, according to the Siaton police, appeared to be lifeless when they were rescued from the scene of the incident, and brought to the nearest hospital where they all declared dead on arrival.*
