Two drug suspects, one of them a woman, are now in jail after their arrests on Aug. 4 in San Carlos City and San Enrique, Negros Occidental, for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Nabbed during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. 5, San Carlos City, was Layca Dizon, 27.
The arrest of Dizon yielded 0.5 gram of suspected shabu, with a market value of P3,400, P1,700 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs, and P500 in marked money, among other items.
Another buy-bust operation in Brgy. Poblacion, San Enrique, also resulted in the arrest of Mariano Montoya Jr.
The apprehension of Montoya also yielded 0.9 gram of suspected shabu, with a market value of P6,120, two cellular phones, and P500 in marked money, police said.*
