2 shot dead in Toboso

An ambulant vendor and the brother of a policeman died on Sunday, after being shot by four suspects at Stop Aguinaldo in Barangay San Isidro, Toboso, Negros Occidental.

Initial police investigation that alias Elias, 56, was shot at the back of the head by an unidentified gunman, while attending to his customers during a market day.

The other victim, alias Joebert, 41, who is reportedly the brother of a policeman, was shot at by the suspects as he was responding to the shooting incident. As he was trying to get away from the shooters, he was chased down by the gunmen, who managed to kill him, police investigations further indicated.

The armed suspects, who witnesses reported as wearing denim pants and black sweatshirts, immediately fled after the incident.

Both victims are residents of Toboso.

Several fired cartridges of still undetermined caliber of firearms were recovered at the scene of the incident.

Toboso police probers are still in the process of establishing the motive of the shooting incident, and the identities of the perpetrators behind the crime.*
