The City Government of Bago, through the City Environment Management Office (CEMO), conducted mangrove planting and coastal cleanup at Purok Batad in Barangay Sampinit in Bago City yesterday, according to a press release from Bago PIO.
About 200 stakeholders, including Cash For Work program recipients, members of various fisherfolk associations, purok presidents and tanods from Barangays Sampinit, Poblacion and Calumangan, and CEMO personnel, among others, planted some 4,000 mangrove propagules and collected 15 sacks of residual wastes.
They were joined by Bago City Councilors Ma. Josefa Matti, Jake Patrick Torres, Victor Michael Javellana, Carlos Mondia and Ma. Femmy Alvarez-Martir.
