More Negrenses into livestock,
poultry-raising, PVO exec says
BY MARCHEL P. ESPINA

There is a growing number of Negrenses, who engaged in livestock and poultry-raising for business, Provincial Veterinarian Renante Decena said yesterday.

Decena said they continue to buy original stocks from the two provincial farms at the Negros First Ranch in Murcia and the Provincial Livestock Breeding Center and Dairy Farm in La Carlota City.

These private individuals, who have the capacity to invest, have seen the potential of livestock and poultry as means of ensuring food security and supply, as well as an alternative livelihood to sustain their family income, he said.

LTO re-extends validity
of vehicle registration

The Land Transportation Office yesterday announced that it has extended the validity of registration for motor vehicles for another 30 days in consideration of delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a statement, the LTO said motor vehicles with plate numbers ending in 6, or those scheduled for renewal of registration in June in all areas — except at the National Capital Region, Laguna, Cebu, and Region 3 — are given an extension of 30 days from June 30.

“Thus, no penalty shall be collected for renewal transactions from July 1-31, 2020 for these motor vehicles,” the LTO said.
