A total of 238 wanted persons have been arrested by the police in Negros Occidental, in a month long campaign this August, according to reports of the Police Regional Office 6.
Of the arrested fugitives, 25 were classified by the police as Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) and 213 as Other Wanted Persons.
Most wanted persons are those facing heinous crime cases while other wanted persons are involved in minor crimes.
The NOCPPO accounted for 199 wanted persons, while the Bacolod City Police Office netted 39 wanted persons.
All over Western Visayas, the police accounted for 468 wanted persons. The Negros Occidental Police Office (NOCPPO) achieved the most number of arrests.
