A 23-year-old male tagged as high-value individual (HVI) in Barangay Banago was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) with P884,000 worth of suspected shabu on Thursday afternoon.
The operation that took place at 2:48 p.m. in Purok Paraiso, Barangay Banago, nabbed the suspect, identified by the alias ‘Jan-Jan,’ an unemployed resident of the area.
During the sting, CDEU operatives recovered one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet as the buy-bust item using a P1,000 bill.
A further search of the suspect yielded six additional heat-sealed sachets and one large knot-tied transparent plastic bag, all containing more or less 130 grams of shabu.
Although classified as an HVI, police noted that the suspect was not previously included on the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council list.
The suspect is currently detained at the custodial facility of Police Station 3 and will be facing charges for the violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, which penalizes the sale and possession of dangerous drugs.*
