A midday fire razed a residential compound in Barangay 2, Bacolod City, yesterday, leaving 28 families displaced.
Initial reports from The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Bacolod indicated that 29 structures were affected.
According to the Bacolod Department of Social Services and Development, 22 homes were classified as totally damaged, while three suffered partial damage.
Three families listed as sharers and renters were also affected.
The BFP estimated the damage to be worth P296,250.
The blaze broke out at the Purok Lampirong at approximately 1:15 p.m., quickly escalating to a second alarm as it tore through the neighborhood.
The fire spread across a 1,185-square-meter area before being declared under control at 1:23 p.m. and officially extinguished by 1:29 p.m.
Authorities reported zero casualties, injuries, or fatalities despite the speed of the blaze.*
