Negros Occidental logged 223 new Covid cases, while Bacolod City recorded 66, the report released by the Department of Health 6 yesterday showed.
Of the 223 new cases in the province, 221 are local transmissions and two are locally stranded individuals.
In the city, the new cases include 55 local transmissions and 11 LSIs, the DOH report added.
Negros Occidental had a total of 10,243 confirmed cases, and 8,309 of those were local cases. There were 7,568 recoveries, 2,466 active cases, and 206 deaths. The 398 new confirmed cases in Western Visayas, including that of Negros Occidental and Bacolod, came from 13 of the 16 laboratories that submitted their reports, as of April 23, the report added.*
