28th Panaad sa Negros set for April

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The 28th Panaad sa Negros festival is slated for April 15 to 21 this year.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday said that preparations are ongoing for the annual festivities, with Provincial Tourism Officer Cherryl Decena leading the executive committee.

Lacson also announced that local government units joining the festival will get P300,000 each, an amount which is the same as last year.

“We need the cooperation of all LGUs to make the Panaad successful,” he added.

The Panaad Festival features the traditional festival dances competition and the Lin-ay Sang Negros beauty pageant as among the major activities. This year, an event called the “Best of Negros Products” will be among the highlights.

Showcased once again will be the themed pavilions of all 32 cities and municipalities of the province, including the capital, Bacolod City.

Each structure is designed either as replicas of their own municipal or city hall, or featuring the products the locality is known for.*
