The Police Regional Office 6 reported that it arrested 29 drug suspects and recovered P5.1 million worth of suspected shabu in Western Visayas, during 24-hour police operations on May 10.

Of the 29 arrested suspects, seven were tagged as high-value individuals, and 22 were classified as street-level individuals, according to regional police spokesman PLt. Col. Arnel Solis.

This also resulted in the confiscation of about 753 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P5,120,400, Solis said.

On the 22 anti-drug operations, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office contributed 11 operations and confiscated 35 grams of shabu; Iloilo Police Provincial Office conducted five operations with a seizure of 239 grams; Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 seized approximately 430 grams; Bacolod City Police Office seized 32 grams; while the Iloilo City Police Office confiscated about 17 grams of suspected shabu.

PBrig.Gen. Jack Wanky, regional police commander, commended the police operatives for their notable accomplishments in the campaign against illegal drugs.

“Let us continue to work hand-in-hand with other agencies, the community, and other stakeholders for a drug-free region,” Wanky said in a statement issued by PRO 6.*
