The Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center hosted the 2nd Battle of Bots: Negros Occidental Virtual Robotics Competition from September 5-9, in partnership with Pinoy Robot Games.
Players from the University of Negros Occidental Recoletos, Bacolod bagged the championship and third place award in the line tracing competition elementary category. Contestants from the School of the Future, San Carlos City won second place.
It was a back to back win for Ramon Torres National High School, bagging the championship in the line tracing and sumobot competition high category. Players from Cabacungan national High school settled for 3rd place.
Champions in the line tracing and sumobot competitions will represent the province in the National Robotics Competition on September 30, particularly in the virtual hockey and sumobot category.
The Battle of Bots is an annual robotics training and competition that focuses on guiding young minds to use their abilities in solving practical problems through robotics. The theme for 2022 is “Greener Digital Cities.”
Sixty-nine students satisfactorily completed the online robotics and intelligent machines training and 37 challengers participated this year’s competition.
Other winners of Line Tracing Elementary Category were Mar Aian Mathew Peroti – champion, Faye Alexis – 2nd place and Christian James Lajo – 3rd place;
Winners of Line Tracing High School Category: Sophie Kryshel Florido – champion and Juliesa Marrice Secuela 2nd place, both are students of the Ramon Torres National High School. Third place went to Loraine Gwen Encoleio of Cabacungan National High School;
Winners of SumoBot Elementary Category: Kaizene Saskiah Batomalaque – champion, Zen Margaja – 2nd place, Alexcy Grace Muyo -3rd place, all students of the School of the Future.*
