Another Negros Occidental provincial government employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee of the Provincial Veterinary Office does field work, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said yesterday.

There was no need to close the PVO since the infected employee had not reported to that office for the last five days, but decontamination would be conducted, Diaz said.

They do not know where the employee was infected, he goes to the gym so it is possible that he got it there, Diaz added.

Diaz said that when they received the news about the employee yesterday afternoon, they were meeting with department and office heads at the Capitol on the protocol for COVID-19 prevention in their offices and how to deal with workers who test positive.

Employees who test positive for the virus will be considered on quarantine leave, not on sick leave, he said.*
