More than P163,000 worth of suspected shabu was recovered by the police in separate buy bust operations on Thursday in the cities of Himamaylan and Kabankalan in Negros Occidental.
Two of the three drug suspects were apprehended by the police during a buy bust operation at Purok 9 in Brgy. Aguisan, Himamaylan City.
The arrest of a 37-year-old woman and a 39-year-old male, whose identities were withheld by the police, yielded about six grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P40,800, and P500 in marked money.
Another buy bust operation at Burgos Street in Brgy. 9, Kabankalan City, also resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug peddler, which also yielded about 18 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P122,800.
The three arrested drug suspects are now locked up in jail, pending the filing of charges against them for violation of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.*
