
Three green sea turtles were successfully rescued and released by personnel of the Sagay Marine Reserve after they were found stranded inside a fish corral along the coast of Barangay Taba-ao early Thursday morning, a press release from Sagay PIO said.
The rescue team responded at around 2:35 a.m., where they found three turtles, two females and one male, estimated to weigh 150 kilograms, 50 kg, and 50 kg, respectively.
The turtles were inspected on-site to check for injuries and overall condition.
After confirming that all three were healthy, the team immediately released them back into the sea.

Responders who assisted in the operation include Felisa Sayon, owner of the fish corral, Brgy. Tanod RM Magbato, Genesis Pialante, Roberto Cabalquinto, Romeo Hermosa, SK chairperson Jhon Mark Caraballe, Ruel Magbato, and Teodoro Bacalso Jr.
The Sagay Marine Reserve led by Protected Area Supt. Mayo Antonio Cueva reminded the public to immediately report any sightings of stranded or trapped marine wildlife to ensure their safety and proper handling.
Vazquez thanked the community for their prompt report and heed the call of SMR to release the stranded turtles.*
